Sarah Lee Brown Fleming
Sarah Lee Brown Fleming (1875–1963) was an African-American educator, social and community activist and the first African-American teacher in the Brooklyn school system.
Her most notable published work is the novel ''Hope's Highway'' (1918). It is a tale of racial uplift in which education and integrity persevere over racism and despair.
